Societies are the safest and most free when every person has the unequivocal right to defend themselves and their property. Unfortunately, South Carolina has only partially guarded our rights in this area as described in both the state and Federal Constitutions. It’s well past time that the legislature abolish the remaining restrictions, which are deeply rooted in bigotry and fear, on our natural right to carry arms. I will do all that I can to pass legislation that makes our statutes match our constitution.
